UCCSAlerts can only be used to communication emergency notifications. UCCS Safe allows us to send operational alerts which may include traffic conditions, pending weather conditions, campus road closures, etc.
All active UCCS student, staff, and faculty, and affiliates are either automatically registered or are invited to register for emergency notifications. Active email addresses (@uccs.edu) are automatically registered to receive email alerts. Students MUST use their MyUCCS Portal to register their mobile phone number for text alerts, but may register non-UCCS email addresses, and parent/spouse/additional cell numbers using the Alerts Sign Up tab at the top of this page. Faculty and staff are automatically enrolled with their uccs email and whatever phone number is in their HR profile. They can add additional phone numbers using the procedures in the Alerts Sign up tab a the top of this page. UCCS affiliates, parents or visitors can follow the instructions on the Alerts Sign up tab at the tope of this page.
UCCSAlerts, as an emergency notification, will be issued upon confirmation of an ongoing significant emergency or dangerous situation that poses an imminent threat to the health and safety of the campus community, which could include natural disasters, severe weather, explosions or bomb threats, or other imminent dangers affecting our campus. Additionally, UCCSAlerts will be used to communicate the operating status of the campus in terms of closures due to winter weather and other causes.
Text notifications will come from one of two short code numbers, either 67283 or 22678, we recommend users list these numbers in their contacts as “UCCSAlerts” to help more easily identify them.
Voice calls will come from 719.255.3111, again we recommend entering “UCCSAlerts”, “UCCS Police” as the contact for this number.
Email messages will be from UCCSAlerts (uccs@getrave.com).
The emergency notification system supports all U.S. mobile carriers. The speed at which individual providers process these notifications does vary and may vary with your individual plans.
